And this time, it’s Thanksgiving in San Jose
It’s the front tooth that being a beast. Fractured and inching its way out, the tooth (crown and post) won’t wait. Because we’re heading to Scotland the first week in December - and in order not to scare small European children as a toothless old lady - getting it corrected is crucial.
Like every single time I have called Meza Dental Care in a frenzy, they answered with, “We’ll fix it. Come on.”
I had one available week and that was it. With only two weeks notice, the staff at Meza Dental Care began the process of scheduling our travel plans and my dental procedures. Dr, Meza called a week out and we discussed the issues, their status, and any updates. Eight years after our initial conversation, he still makes it a priority to speak with patients and listen to their needs and concerns.
Four days later, I would be in San Jose, Costa Rica, and in the chair.
Not only is the care impeccable and affordable but also immediate. If the US has taught me anything it’s that medical care and appointments are never on my timetable. Even with an emergency, the wait time is always longer than expected. My comfort is important to the staff, and whether it be to see me when my schedule dictates or to allow me to rest during a procedure, I am always impressed and grateful.
I shared my experience with the man sitting next to me on the plane as I headed home. He said, “Congratulations. They look great.” Yes, they do look great, but I wasn’t sure that was the right complement because esthetics never came into play. The pain told me of its initial demise and more than likely if it had been in the back, I would have waited.
In hindsight, he was right. Yes, the smile I have come to love is something I cannot live without.
