Finally, we're home

Dorothy nailed it. As much as Len and I love to travel, there's a peace that returns to us once we open the front door and Bear starts screaming at us. Ah, he missed us!
It was a long week in Costa Rica. It was definitely not one of travel but more an experience in the Latin American way of life. The work ethic, the kindness.We came away with a certainty of our decision to seek medical care in Costa Rica. There are still moments when I question the fact that we took such a major leap. When you round up all the priorities in your life, you understand that concessions are made but no settling - ever.
Many have asked how we found Dr. Meza and Meza Dental. It's research, my friends. As a journalist, you discover the key to any story, any experience is the depth of research and how well you know your subject. After the research, the recommendations, the personal stories, it was like meeting old friends. We are both thankful for their care, and we look with anticipation our return in March.
The man who made the difference is Len. The caregiver. They often times are forgotten, but I do not forget his sacrifice, his restlessness, his treks to the grocery store in the rain, his working from a chair in the waiting room making sure Team One Repair Inc never did without, his nagging to take my meds, his comfort when the tears raged. Thank you Len for taking this journey by my side.
