Coming March 3, 2026
It was November, eight months after I had submitted my final manuscript. I happened to be in Nashville on a press trip when my cover appeared in my Inbox. As every author does upon receipt of something she has imagined for the better part of two years, she squeals. And then, she squeals again.
I shared my screen with Len who squealed, too. So tiny on this dang phone, I need my computer. I need to see it big. Then, to the men who sat across the table from me. “You don’t know me, but I’m a writer. And this is my book cover.” Surprisingly, they were as excited as I. One man, a district attorney from Kentucky, took down my name - for all the right reasons - and said he would buy the book in March. I was giddy.
I caught my breath and then turned my attention to Jason Isbell singing “Wild Horses” on stage.
I am an author, and this is my third book. And, I am proud.
